The Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale Music Ministry
provides an
opportunity to serve in the Worship Choir, the Worship Team (selected
vocalists from the Worship Choir and musicians that lead worship at each
service), and the Worship Band (musicians).
We hold vocal auditions for the Worship Choir on Thursday nights at 8:30pm
except for the 1st Thursday of every month; no auditions will be
held on that Thursday).
The audition is a two-part process. In order to be prepared for your
audition, you'll want to choose a worship song that we sing here in the
fellowship or a hymn that best displays your vocal ability. Pastor Clay
will accompany you on the keyboard. If you are asked back for a second
audition, Pastor Clay will give you a packet containing the music (vocal
arrangements) and a CD of two songs in the Soprano, Alto or Tenor range.
After taking the music home and learn the songs, you then come back the following week
for a final audition.
A few of the expectations for Worship Choir are to be at rehearsal on
Thursday nights (with the exception of the 1st Thursday of every month) from
7 - 8:30p.mm (childcare is provided), to be available to sing at selected
services, and to be in regular attendance at Calvary Chapel Fort
Lauderdale.
If you are a musician, auditions are by appointment only. Please contact the
Music Ministry at (954) 315-4248 to make arrangements for receiving an
audition packet and to schedule your audition. The Worship Team musicians do
not have a separate practice; musicians are responsible for practicing on
their own during the week for their scheduled service (weekly CDs and lead
charts are provided). Musicians have the opportunity to practice with Pastor
Clay and the other musicians during the sound check of the service at which
they are playing.
** Note: There are no auditions for the Worship Team vocalists. Worship Team vocalists are members of the
larger Worship Choir and are selected from the Worship
Choir through a separate, by-appointment-only audition after serving
for a time in the larger Worship Choir.
“Sing new songs of praise to Him; play skillfully on the harp and sing with
joy.”
